Welcome to LinguaRun, a community where languages and running unite us!
Our aim is to motivate runners and linguists to come together and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of running and language learning! It’s about combining two hobbies and making a simple commitment to yourself and others to go for a ‘linguarun’! Learn from each other, enjoy the run, grab a post-run coffee - and then maybe share your experiences and achievements with others through our socials.
Why run with a group?
The beauty of running is that it is free and flexible, plus you can set off on a run with zero pre-planning. That being said, running regularly with a group has provides support and structure at times when motivation might otherwise be lacking. Knowing that you can catch up with your ‘running buddies’ and that you are keeping up with them can really help! A pre-arranged session is often the best way to keep yourself on track, especially if you find it hard to stick at it by yourself. By setting up organised ‘RunTogether’ LinguaRun groups around the country, like the one we currently have in Consett (County Durham) we hope to provide another way for communities to come together and for friendships to form.
If you are already a confident runner, a run leader or coach and you are interested in become a LinguaRun ambassador, either helping to promote a local group or running organised sessions, we would love to hear from you.
